Grocery Grab Wednesday

It's my favorite day of the week...Grocery Grab Wednesday!

I'm trying to eat the food we already have in the fridge, freezer and pantry, so I actually didn't buy a lot this week.  I really tried to stick to the necessities, but I did have to pick up a few things that weren't on my list because they were on sale.  It's been a while since the sausage at Sprouts has been $2.99 a pound, so I stocked up on sausage (and put it in the freezer, so it's there whenever we want it).  Also, oatmeal was on sale for $0.69 a pound, so I couldn't pass that up either!

Here are my plans for dinners for the week:

Dinner #1 - Soft tacos using ground beef from the freezer and fresh lettuce, tomato, sour cream and salsa from the fridge

Dinner #2 - Homemade pizza using flour from the pantry (for homemade pizza dough), pizza sauce from the freezer, mozzarella, Italian sausage, and fresh veggies from the fridge

Dinner #3 - Whole Chicken in the Slow Cooker with green beans from the freezer and salad

Dinner #4 - Pasta with homemade tomato sauce using canned tomatoes and fresh basil from the garden and salad

Dinner #5 - Breakfast for dinner with eggs from the fridge, sauteed peppers from the fridge, fresh fruit, skillet potatoes using potatoes from the pantry, and toast

We will have cereal and oatmeal for breakfasts (and maybe banana pancakes over the weekend), and we will have sandwiches, leftovers, and yogurt parfaits for lunches during the week.
